Explore the area, relax around the house, walk on the beach, read a book on the deck, complete scavenger hunt items, and basically just do whatever you want. Why am I telling you what to do?!?
We're setting aside almost every evening between 5p & 7p for drinks, snacks, relaxation, and fantastic conversation. Grab a drink at one of the bars, find a spot either inside or outside, and do whatever you like ... unless you're helping with dinner in which case we'll bring you a drink.
The four teams participating in the first-everTentacle Chef Competition will have one hour to do whatever prep they would like to do before the competition begins with the unveiling of the Special Theme Ingredient. The team can only prep those items that they purchased ahead of time with their $100 budget.
Additionally, those who are not participating but would like to fix some of the many, many leftovers we have for dinner, may do so at this time.
Hats off to Teresa Wu for this idea. If you've spent even just a few minutes on the Friends of the Bluebird Slack workspace, you know what self-proclaimed foodies, and excellent cooks, everyone says they are. Well, tonight, we'll put that to the test as four teams of four people each will compete for the first-ever title of Tentacle Chef (because each team has eight arms, get it? yeah, I know octopi have arms and not tenacles. Let it go). Each team can choose to spend $100 before the competition to purchase whatever ingredients they want, but they cannot be prepped until 6:00pm on the night of the competition. At 7:00pm, we will have our opening ceremonies and unveil the Special Theme Ingredient, unknown to anyone other than the Camp Directors. Teams will have 90 minutes to prepare at least three dishes, but can choose to prepare more. Every dish should feature the Special Theme Ingredient. Judging will take place afterwards by The Distinguished Judges (to be named later). Most total points from four judges wins. The team that wins will gain the people's ovation and fame forever ... and a trophy-like object.
It sounds better than Free Time. In the evenings you'll find drinks, music, conversation, movie showings, poker, pool, D&D one-shot games, star gazing, and who knows what all else
Ssshhh ... campers are sleeping. Well, some of them are sleeping. You don't have to sleep but we would appreciate keeping the noise down to let others relax.
